AWESOME We must do all we can to protect these amazing K9s. A bullet proof vest is the beginning for things to follow like Narcan just in case you might need it. A safety kit and a Hot and pop alarm system for the patrol car. Vested interest in K9s is amazing and they would gladly take donations to help furnish all these wonderful items for the K9s.

An absolutely outstanding job by all Officers involved and a special good boy to K9 Koda for not allowing this felon to escape! On Sunday, March 10, 2019 around 2000 hrs, an individual (wanted on outstanding arrest warrants) led Officers in a foot chase after an attempted residential burglary.
Officer Bloom and his partner, K9 Koda arrived on scene and spotted the suspect running through a parking lot. K9 Koda was sent to apprehend the suspect who continued to elude Police.
Moments later, the suspect saw K9 Koda about to engage him and surrendered. As trained, K9 Koda was recalled back to his handler, Officer Bloom without incident.
After a short struggle with the Officer, the suspect was finally placed under arrest and taken into custody.
An absolutely outstanding job by all Officers involved and a special good boy to K9 Koda for not allowing this felon to escape!

Florida Penalties would increase for people who injure or kill dogs or horses that work with police officers and other first responders, under measures moving through the Legislature. ... See MoreSee Less
This should be country wide, not just by state!
Firing squad I hope!
Totally stand behind 100%
It’s about time.
Officers “forgetting” their partners in hot cars resulting in the dogs death should be included in this. And don’t send K9s after perps that LE knows have a gun on them.
Amen. About time.
Actually also need to stop greyhound racing and enforce felonies charges on all the dumped dogs in everglades
This should happen everywhere. They should all be considered first responders!
Every state should have strict penalties for anyone who enters or kills a police K9 or horse - And there should be a life sentence without parole and without any benefits or family/friend visitations while incarcerated for anyone who kills a police officer
They need our protection and yes stiff penalties are absolutely necessary.
🙏 for your safety daily!!!
stop talking - do it !!!!
Yes! Do it now, please!
They should have the same as of hurting a human officer.
What do you mean? May ? They should. They do their jobs. You should have their backs.
Should be ALL animals!
SHOULD HAVE BEEN THIS WAY THE WHOLE TIME. THEY ARE OFFICERS.
Good. Im 100% on board. And higher fines, bond and long jail sentence for all cruelty.
Well it's about TIME & I'm sure that there HAD to be $ome kind of $tudy to put this into action.... after all there JUST DOGS = collateral damage.....DUH! Can you tell I'm partial??????
As it should be.
We all should adopt more critical and serious penalties for any harm to ANY animal being abused by anyone!
Got what she deserved. They're not pets or just good PR for the department. They're doing a job. Many K9 units will be more than happy to let you meet and greet the dog if you just ask respectfully.
Betting she's a democrat!😄
Omg... there had to have been drugs or alcohol (or both) in her system!
I mean, I also want to pet the K9, but I tend to do what the guy with the gun and cuffs tells me to do...
glad the K9 officer is okay....
What c an idiot but she was out at 3am? For what? Who in their right mind is out at that time?
Derfwad got what she deserved!
Silly cow. Should have thrown her in the back. 😁
She in mentally ill
At 3:30 am if you want to hang out in a patrol car.... You got what you asked for eventually...
what an idiot
How about a nice tooth hug?
I’d have had a hard time NOT unlocking the doors and letting the dog have its way.
I'm sorry but it doesn't matter if it is a police K9, a service canine or MY canine... you DO NOT have the right to touch them without asking permission. I'm sick of entitled brats thinking they can reach out and take something just because they want it. My dog wouldn't have bit her... I probably would though.

Go get em K9 Indi of the DeKalb County Police Department! Congratulations on your comeback!! #takeabiteoutofcrime www.facebook.com/DKPD1915/posts/414555839317783Submitted by Rob Hickman, NAPWDA Master Trainer:
As most know, Police Service Dog “Indi” was shot in the line of duty on December 13th, 2018 while “Indi and his handler, Norman Larsen” were searching for the suspect who killed Officer Edgar Flores, DeKalb County Police Department (Georgia).
The subsequent injury left “Indi” without his right eye and weeks of recuperation.
Once “Indi” was cleared, The DeKalb County Police Department K9 Unit began extensive training with “Indi” to prepare him for continued service with the department prior to the event that unfolded on December 13th, 2018.
I feel very privileged to announce that “Indi & Larsen” successfully passed their North American Police Work Dog Association “Police Utility Dog Title” this afternoon!
The “duo” should again be patrolling the community of DeKalb County later this week.
“Rest In Peace Officer Edgar Flores”
